        Jacob identified as a child of John Eglin in biography of Thomas Eglin who was the son of John Eglin Jr. in the Genealogical and Biographical Record of North-Eastern Kansas published by Lewis Publishing Company Chicago 1900 This book covers Nemaha, Brown, Doniphan and Atchinson Counties Kansas 479 bios and 38 photos contributed by Roger Pyle Email pyle @bartol.undel,edu on net at freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pyle/GBR/GBR.html
        The relationship between Isaac Schermerhorn and Jacob Eglin is unknown (see 1880 census References) Abraham Schermerhorn the father of Isaac lived with Isaac in the Town of Durham for the 1855. 1860 and 1870 census and Abraham was buried in Stonebridge Cemetery Durham which is about 3 miles from Freehold
        Abraham Daniels Schermerhorn was born 3 May 1778 at Kinderhook Columbia County N.Y and died 22 April 1856 (Town of Durham Greene County) His wife was Magdalene Kittle born Jan 1780. They had 11 children including Isaac. Isaac married Hannah Lennon . they had at least 2 children, Magdalene born about 1848 and Mary born about 1856 who married Alvin Jenning and was who living with Isaac in 1880 in the Town of New Scotland Albany County N.Y.

        James Taylor Cole was born 1824 likely in the Town of Cairo Green County and died 1863
(ref April) He was the son of Harvey Cole who was born 9 August 1791 and died 14 April 1863 and was buried in Cairo Cemetery, Town of Cairo Greene County. James' mother was Nancy Taylor1788-1866 In the 1850 census of Greenville James a cooper (barrel maker)
        April Saccoccio states that he died 1863 and that Catharine remarried after 1870 to Horace Cook in New York or Wisconsin. So far none of them found in the 1880 census.

Taylor Cole cemetery on route 145 from Cairo to East Durham just north of Moorehouse Road in Town of Cairo about 2 miles from Freehold (Town of Greenville) as the crow flies and about 5 miles from Stonebridge Cemetery in Town of Durham (Ref Greene County rootsweb board)

Catharine Eglin married before abt 1849 to married James Taylor Cole 1824-1863 perhaps Green County N.Y. Catharine and James children were Elwin Cole born 1849, Alice Cole born 1851, Fannie Cole 1861 Catharine Married 2nd to Horace Cook 1817-1903
In 1855 Jacob Eglin age 48 lived in Town of Greenville Greene Cty and had for 18 years and was a blacksmith Wife Helen age 42. It is not known if they had more children beside Catharine
