Henry F. Timmerman was born in Manheim, Herkimer County, March 8, 1811, whence he removed to this town in 1834. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Peter Miller, and they had 10 children, via.: Charlotte, Fidelia, Mary M., Anson and Byause (twins), George H., Grandison C., Cornelius and Conrelia (twins), and one who died in infancy. Grandison C. received a common school education, and worked on the farm until he attained his majority. He also engaged in cheese making for about two years. In 1869 he married Maria.. Daughter of William Hilliker, of Dexter village, in Brownville. November 10, 1885, Mr. Timmerman was appointed postmaster of Orleans Four Corners. The father of Mrs. Timmerman can to this country from Wiltshire, England in 1837. Mr. Timmerman is of German Descent.
